C.007. Notable North Carolinians: Raleigh Roots Project

Funded by a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, interviews were conducted by the staff of the Raleigh Historic Properties Commission with older members of the Raleigh, N.C., community. Interviews focus on Raleigh's history, especially that of its African American community, and significant architecture within the traditionally black communities. This series is part of an on-going project to interview men and women in North Carolina who have made significant contributions to business, the arts, education, and politics.
