Fred Battle has fought tirelessly for civil rights – he was jailed for participating in a student protest in Greensboro, NC – and eventually founded the Chapel Hill chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). In this interview, Mr. Battle discusses segregation in Chapel Hill during the 1950s and 1960s.
