9831,9865,9916,9922,9934,9945 - A nice size crowd enjoys listening to the Black Swamp Bootleggers, a local N.C. blue grass band, perform at the Carolina Inn on UNC's campus at 211 Pittsboro Street.  With umbrellas in hand, some even sit in the rain to get a closer view. Blue Grass bands perform every Friday night at the Caroline Inn from 5 p.m. to  8 p.m.

9910,9913 - John and Clara Privott, from Rocky Mount, celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary Friday Sept. 5th at the Carolina Inn. 60 years ago they spent their wedding night at the Carolina Inn and paid $7/night for their room. The Black Swamp Bootleggers, performing blue grass that evening on the lawn, introduced them to the crowd and congratulated them.

9965,9968,9969 -  The rain from Tropical Storm Hanna did not keep people off of the streets. The view from Top of the Hill is breathtaking with the glow of lights against the rain, umbrellas gliding across the cross walks, and reflections on the street.
