Selection is based on

 

1.       University career accomplishments, both inside and outside normal job responsibilities.

OR

2.       A specific accomplishment made within the past twelve (12) months that has been of major significance. The specific accomplishment cited may be inside or outside of the nominee’s primary area of responsibility.

 

Nomination procedure

 

1.       Any UNC at Chapel Hill employee may submit a nomination

 

2.       Active UMA members are eligible to be nominated. Membership status can be confirmed by contacting the chair of the Membership Committee, Libby Evans, at evans@unc.edu. UMA Board Members may not be nominated. For a current list of Board Members see http://uma.unc.edu/

 

3.       All nominations must include a letter of recommendation that summarizes the nominee’s accomplishments. This summary should be no longer than one type written page (8 ½ x 11).

 

4.       The UMA Morale and Recognition Committee will review all nominations to ensure that they meet the criteria for nomination. Eligible nominations will be forwarded to the UMA Board for the final selection.

 

5.       Nominations are not carried forward from one year to the next.
